The export situation of vitamins in June and the third quarter market forecast

According to customs data, China's total vitamin exports (excluding choline) in June 2020 were 28,400 tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.1% and a month-on-month decrease of 17.8%. The export volume of B12 continued to grow, with a year-on-year increase of 233%. The export volume of calcium pantothenate in June was 1,193 tons, an increase of 50% year-on-year, and the export volume of calcium pantothenate from January to June was 9,184 tons, an increase of 25% year-on-year. VA exports in June were 324 tons, down 9.3% year-on-year, and VA exports from January to June were 2451.7 tons, up 9.8% year-on-year. In June, the export volume of VE was 5761.5 tons, a year-on-year increase of 51%. From January to June, the export volume of VE was 41,600 tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.2%.

In June 2020, China's VC export volume was 16,400 tons, an increase of 1.5% year-on-year, and a month-on-month decrease of 15.3%. From January to June, my country's VC export volume was 105,600 tons, an increase of 21.6% year-on-year. From January to June 2020, my country’s vitamin exports (excluding choline) totaled 187,400 tons, an increase of 18.3% year-on-year, and the total exports from January to June were US$1.79 billion, an increase of 24.4% year-on-year. After March, the overseas new crown epidemic has spread rapidly, European companies have limited production, and foreign companies are concerned about the supply of raw materials. my country's vitamin exports have increased significantly from March to March 2020. The sudden increase in confirmed cases in countries in overseas sales areas is not conducive to demand. Feed companies' inventory consumption has slowed down, and vitamin exports in June have declined month-on-month. With the consumption of stocks of feed enterprises, overseas enterprises gradually signed orders for the fourth quarter in the second half of the third quarter.

In June 2020, China's vitamin A export volume was 324 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.9%, and the average unit price was US$66.9/kg, an increase from the previous month. From January to June 2020, the cumulative export volume of my country's vitamin A and derivatives reached 2451.7 tons, an increase of 9.8% year-on-year. From January to June 2020, my country’s vitamin A exports totaled US$135 million, with an average unit price of US$55.12/kg. In February 2020, due to my country's fight against the new crown epidemic, the resumption of work was delayed. From January to February, my country's VA export volume was 579.1 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 95 tons. my country's VA export volume increased significantly in March, April, and May. BASF once notified the customer by email that the German factory VA and AD3 were unable to ship their orders in June due to quality problems, and stopped receiving orders in the third quarter. According to market news, the Xinhecheng VA production line has been overhauled since July and ended at the end of August. Zhejiang Pharmaceuticals suspended production for maintenance from August 1 to September 15. Another European manufacturer's VA production line has been suspended for 6 weeks since early August. The supply is tight and the VA market price is high.

In June 2020, China's vitamin E export volume was 5761.5 tons, an increase of 51% year-on-year, and the average unit price was US$9/kg, an increase from the previous month. From January to June 2020, the export volume of VE was 41,600 tons, an increase of 7.2% year-on-year. From January to June 2020, the export value of my country's VE products is 320 million US dollars, and the average unit price is 7.7 US dollars/kg. From January to February 2020, my country's VE export volume was 9,872 tons, which is 2,483.5 tons less than last year. The new crown epidemic abroad spread rapidly, consumption by foreign companies slowed down, and the export volume of VE in June fell month-on-month. Zhejiang Pharmaceutical stopped production and maintenance from August 1 to September 15, and its VE products stopped reporting. Some European manufacturers' VE production lines started to stop production for 4 weeks since early August. The VE market supply contracted in the third quarter.
