CAPINDIA 2018 Expo Concludes In Mumbai
The third edition of CAPINDIA international exhibition featuring manufacturers and exporters in chemicals, plastics, construction & mining and allied industries concluded successfully in Mumbai from 22nd to 24th March.
The event was jointly organised by the four export promotion councils – PLEXCONCIL, CHEMEXCIL, CAPEXIL and SHEFEXIL – under the aegis of the Department of Commerce, Government of India, and supported by Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals. According to a press note released by the organisers, the event featured over 700 exhibitors and over 10,000 visitors. “CAPINDIA invited international buyers to attend ‘Buyer Seller Meets’ being organised as part of the Government’s MAI Scheme to promote key export segments,” the note informed.
Speaking after inaugurating the expo, Mr. Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister for Commerce & Industry, said that the chemicals and plastics sector exports had registered 22% growth on a year-to-date basis. “As part of the country’s policy initiatives on increasing India’s import-export ratio it is essential to focus on substantially increasing the contribution of foreign trade to GDP,” he said and applauded the initiatives taken by the export promotion councils in this regard.
