Fire broke out in a chemical plant in Zibo, Shandong
On the afternoon of September 1, a fire broke out in Minji Chemical Industry and smoke billowed. The reporter learned from an interview with the Zibo Emergency Management Bureau that the fire had been extinguished and there were no casualties.
According to witnesses, the fire broke out at around 17:20 that day. “At that time, I felt that it was dark outside. I saw from the window that it was a fire and the smoke was heavy. The fire was controlled at around 18:00.”
At about 17:40 that day, the reporter saw thick smoke billowing east at the intersection of Lutai Avenue and Xiwu Road in the central city of Zibo. At about 19:00, the reporter drove more than ten kilometers to the scene and saw that the fire occurred in Minji Chemical Industry. In the factory area, the fire trucks participating in the fire fighting at the scene are evacuating from the factory area one after another. There are no open flames and thick smoke at the scene. The environmental monitoring vehicle of the environmental protection department is parked at the entrance of the factory.
The reporter learned from the Zibo Emergency Management Bureau that the fire did not cause any casualties and has been extinguished. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
