BASF was rated as a leading CDP enterprise
Recently, BASF announced that the company was once again rated as one of the world's leading enterprises by the non-profit organization Global Environmental Information Research Center (CDP) with relevant measures in the fields of water resources management, forest and climate protection. BASF was rated as the highest "A" in the CDP sustainable water management field, and "A -" in the other two categories.
In the field of climate protection, BASF was once again rated as CDP "A -". Since 2004, BASF has been submitting data reports related to climate protection to CDP. Among other things, the assessment considers the transparency of emission reports, the treatment of risks and opportunities caused by climate change, climate protection strategies and carbon dioxide emission reduction measures. BASF has set a climate protection target to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 25% by 2030 compared with 2018. To this end, BASF is accelerating its pace to replace fossil raw materials with more renewable and recycled raw materials. In order to achieve these goals, BASF set up a "net zero acceleration" department to build a stronger organizational structure.
According to the 2022 CDP water safety questionnaire report, BASF is one of 103 enterprises rated as "A" in the evaluation of thousands of enterprises. By 2030, BASF will introduce a sustainable water resource management system in all relevant production bases. CDP assesses how enterprises report their water resource management work transparently and how to reduce the risk of water resource scarcity. The assessment also examines the extent to which product development can contribute to sustainable water resources management for customers.
