USD 450 million in advance! Roche acquires Inflazome
According to foreign media reports, Inflazome recently announced that the company has reached an acquisition agreement with Roche. Currently, the company has received an advance payment of 380 million euros (approximately US$448 million) from Roche and will also be eligible for additional milestone payments.
It is reported that Inflazome is an industry leader in the development of inflammasome inhibitors and was established in 2016. Previously, Inflazome has received 55 million euros in financing from investors such as Forbion, Longitude Capital, Fountain Healthcare Partners and Novartis Venture Fund.
The oral medicine developed by Inflazome aims to solve the clinical unmet needs of inflammatory diseases by targeting the inflamed bodies. Its product portfolio consists of clinical and preclinical oral small molecule NLRP3 inhibitors. The activated NLRP3 inflammasome, as a "danger sensor" in the body, is related to a variety of chronic inflammatory diseases, including Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, asthma, inflammatory bowel disease, chronic kidney disease, and cardiovascular disease , Arthritis and NASH.
Currently, the company's lead compound has successfully completed phase I clinical trials and some high-potential early plans.
Through this acquisition, Roche will own all rights to the company's entire product portfolio. Roche said that it plans to further develop these product portfolios in the future to cater to various indications for which medical needs are not met.
