A BASF factory discharged hazardous materials and was urgently shut down
According to a report from Reuters on October 10, the German chemical company BASF said on the same day that after discovering that an imidazole plant in Ludwigshafen had discharged a small amount of pharmaceutical and cosmetic raw materials into the Rhine since October 9, the company had prevented Sexually closed the factory.
The company said in a statement that imidazole is harmful to fish, and for humans, if swallowed, it can also cause skin burns and eye damage. The company stated that, given that the emission scale is estimated to be 300 kg, it is expected to be diluted, and the company has notified relevant government departments.
