Unilever Invests 30 Billion Forints in New Deodorant Plant in Hungary
Unilever is investing 30 billion forints (US$76 million) in a new 10,000 square meter production facility in Nyírba tór, Hungary, expanding from home care to hygiene and deodorant manufacturing.
The plant will produce 150 million bottles of aerosol deodorant annually, primarily for Eastern European markets, making it Unilever's fourth largest such plant globally. Construction began at the end of 2024, with the main structure has completed by mid-September 2025, and commissioning scheduled for summer 2026. The plant, meeting strict fire and safety standards, will include production, warehousing, and office areas.
This investment strengthens Unilever's European supply network, meeting the region's growing demand for personal care aerosols, while also boosting local employment opportunities and the resilience of the manufacturing industry.
