The Minister of Climate and Environment of Norway visited Bluestar Elkem
Norwegian Minister of Climate and Environment Espen Barth Eide visited the Bluestar Elkem factory in Fiskars and highly affirmed Bluestar Elkem's contribution to achieving climate goals, building a competitive green industry and solving employment.
As the world's leading supplier of advanced silicon-based materials and carbon solutions, Bluestar Elkem has always been committed to promoting the green transformation of the industry, highly combining the company's own green development with the "dual carbon" goal, and vigorously promoting the reduction of carbon emissions in production. Create a better future of sustainable development. The factory located in Fiskars covers an area of more than 10,000 square meters and has advanced equipment in the industry. It is one of the world's largest suppliers of self-baking electrodes, and its customers cover 70% of the smelters in the world. The factory always adheres to innovation and research and development, and modernizes the production process to ensure that the production process is green and environmentally friendly.
Barth Eide visited the advanced pilot facility of Bluestar Elkem, inspected the innovative research and production devices in the laboratory and workshop, and the Vianode sustainable battery material factory. Among them, the Vianode plant has developed a series of synthetic graphite materials used in the manufacture of batteries to improve battery performance and use renewable energy. Compared with the existing mainstream technology, Vianode reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 94% in the production process, and reduces energy consumption per unit product by 60% to 70%. Barth Eide also met the participants of the "Youth Start" program this time. This is an assistance project jointly participated by the local government and the Norwegian Labor and Welfare Administration (NAV), which aims to help young people who have dropped out of school to obtain new employment opportunities through the on-the-job training and employment positions provided by Bluestar Elkem.
