Export of APIs may benefit Biden's victory
The United States ranks second in my country's list of export destinations for APIs. From 2017 to 2018, my country's export of APIs to the United States achieved rapid growth, with year-on-year growth rates reaching 23.84% and 8.87% respectively. However, starting from the second half of 2018, due to the impact of the additional tariffs imposed by the United States on imports from China and a small amount of APIs, my country's export of APIs to the United States has continued to shrink. In the second half of 2018, it contracted 2.79% year-on-year, and in 2019 it decreased again. 1.23%.
Since the beginning of this year, the United States has continuously declared that it will take measures to reduce its dependence on Chinese APIs. On the other hand, under the pressure of the continuous spread of the epidemic, it has to increase its import of APIs from my country. From January to July, my country’s exports of APIs to the United States reached US$2.702 billion, a year-on-year increase of 7.07%. The exports of anti-infectives, hormones, vitamins and other categories directly related to the epidemic have all achieved substantial growth.
In November, the U.S. election was almost settled. Biden, who announced his victory in a number of U.S. media, is expected to adopt active policies to increase international anti-epidemic cooperation and promote global development. The Trump administration’s trade war with China "It may gradually calm down, and the efforts to promote the return of the pharmaceutical industry will also be compromised. my country's trade in APIs with the United States is expected to benefit.
