Corteva plans to launch Bexoveld™, a new global herbicide brand.
Corteva is launching Bexoveld™active, the latest herbicide brand in its innovative pipeline. The active ingredient will provide grain growers with another tool to control broadleaf weeds. Bexoveld is expected to go on sale in North America in 2028 and in Europe in 2030, pending regulatory review.
Bexoveld, a new proprietary molecule discovered by Corteva, is a third-generation 6-AP herbicide developed on the basis of Arylex™active and Rinskor™active herbicides.
Bexoveld has demonstrated excellent control over broadleaf weeds, including resistant weeds important in cereal crops. Under low-use application, the product is effective against the number one broadleaf weeds in North American grain crops: ground skin, poppy, Arabina, and mustard, common weeds affecting European wheat, rye, triticale, and barley.
"Bexoveld demonstrates our commitment to providing farmers with innovative, sustainable plant protection solutions," said Robert King, Executive Vice President of Plant Protection at Corteva. "With Bexoveld, Corteva will continue to create value in the cereal herbicide market by providing a broader range of weed control through differentiated products."
"We are excited about the new auxin herbicides we are bringing to market," said Sam Eathington, chief technology and digital Officer at Corteva. The new molecules will interact with auxin receptors in unique ways, providing resistance management and differentiated properties while meeting Corteva’s standards for sustainable innovation.
Arylpyridinate herbicides are known for their favorable regulatory, toxicological and environmental characteristics. Bexoveld stands out from other auxin herbicides because of its low dose availability and excellent efficacy. Bexoveld breaks down quickly in the soil, meaning there are few restrictions on next season's crop. Residues of Bexoveld and its metabolites in cereals were below the limit.
Bexoveld is highly complementary to Corteva’s current grain herbicide portfolio and will be available in pre-mixed formulations with the company's leading herbicides.
