Shell temporarily closes new polyethylene plant in Pennsylvania
Shell had to temporarily shut down its new plant in Monarca, Pennsylvania, because of problems with incineration and wastewater treatment.
The problems at the plant, which is expected to produce about 3.5 billion pounds of polyethylene resin a year, mean the project could be shut down for much of the year.
This may represent a failure of these materials to reach the market this year, according to the report.
