DIC Raises Epoxy Resin and Curing Agent Prices by Up to 280 Yen/kg

ECHEMI 2026-04-21

On April 8, 2026, global specialty chemicals giant DIC Corporation officially issued a price increase notice, deciding to implement a comprehensive price adjustment for its epoxy resins and epoxy resin curing agents from April 15 onward. This round of price increases covers core product lines including bisphenol A epoxy resins, bisphenol F epoxy resins, phenolic varnish-type solid resins, and dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) resins, with the maximum increase reaching 280 yen/kg, equivalent to about RMB 19/kg. The move is a key measure by the company to respond to geopolitical risks and mounting cost pressure.

Product list and increase range:

Bisphenol A epoxy resin: up 170 yen/kg (about RMB 11.7/kg), mainly used in electronic insulation materials and high-performance coatings;

Bisphenol F epoxy resin: up 180 yen/kg (about RMB 12.4/kg), suitable for high-temperature-resistant coatings and composite materials;

Linear phenolic solid epoxy resin: up 150–200 yen/kg (about RMB 10.3–13.8/kg), used in powder coatings and electrical insulation;

Dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) solid resin: up 260 yen/kg (about RMB 17.9/kg), used in automotive coatings and industrial protection;

Brominated flame-retardant resins and flame retardants: up 210–280 yen/kg (about RMB 14.5–19.3/kg), mainly targeting electronic packaging and flame-retardant materials;

Curing agent series: linear phenolic curing agents up 160 yen/kg, polyamide and polyamine curing agents up 220 yen/kg, and other related products up 180 yen/kg.

This DIC price increase for epoxy resins and curing agents is both a direct reflection of geopolitical risk and cost pressure, and a sign of the interlinked effects across the global chemical supply chain. As demand for green buildings and electronic packaging continues to grow, the importance of high-performance resin materials is becoming increasingly prominent. Through price adjustments and strategic expansion, DIC aims to balance cost pressure with market development, create long-term value for shareholders, and guide the industry toward higher value-added and more environmentally friendly transformation.
