Vestaron's Polypeptide insecticide is registered in Canada
PMRA, under the Pest Control Products Act, approved the registration for sale and use of Vestaron's VST-006335 MP, SPEAR T and SPEAR LEP containing the active ingredient GS-omega/kappa-hxx-hv1a, To control thrips, whiteflies, mites, spotted fruit flies, and lepidoptera pests on various field and greenhouse crops and cannabis.
GS-omega/kappa-Hxtx-Hv1a is a peptide derived from the venom of an Australian funnel-web spider (Hadronyche versuta), an active ingredient that affects the insect's nervous system. The SPEAR technique is based on cysteine-rich Polypeptides, which are essentially small proteins that are highly stable due to strong bonds formed by cysteine amino acids. With the precision and thoroughness of Vestaron's peptide optimization technology, the advantages of small molecules and large proteins are combined to make highly effective insecticides that are safe for workers and beneficial insects and environmentally sound.
SPEAR-Lep is Vestaron's revolutionary biocide for nuts, fruits, vegetables and other high-value field and orchard crops to control lepidoptera pests. SPEAR T is intended for use on a variety of field and greenhouse crops, as well as cannabis, to control thrips, whiteflies, leaf mites and maculate-winged fruit flies.
As part of the integrated pest Management program, SPEAR T and SPEAR LEP will be used interchangeably with other registered pesticides. SPEAR-LEP can be blended in barrels containing the Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) subspecies kurstaki or aizawai. The activity of Bt in the insect gut is known to enhance the efficacy of SPEAR-LEP.
