Syngenta completes new acquisitions to expand production capacity in Brazil

2023-07-14

Syngenta last week completed the acquisition of the Brazil-based Ultrafine subsidiary, a manufacturing manufacturer that has been in operation for more than 30 years.

The acquisition is part of an investment project that includes the expansion of the Paulinia-SP plant, which will expand Syngenta's production capacity in Brazil, thereby creating new jobs for the local community.

Juan Pablo Llobet, Syngenta's President of Agricultural Production in Brazil and Latin America, said: "This investment is part of Syngenta's plan to meet the growing needs of Brazilian agriculture. This allows us to provide solutions to rural challenges. As Brazilian agriculture continues to grow, we need to find more alternatives to ensure the supply of inputs to farmers."

Jorge Buzzetto, Business Director of Syngenta Crop Protection in Latin America, said: "The Paulinia plant now supplies Brazil and other Latin American countries. However, in recent years, demand has increased, and the expansion of the branch plant has not been able to meet the demand. The Ultrafine subsidiary, now renamed Kubix, proved to be the best choice for rapid expansion.

Kubix will feature solar panels, smart and digital calculations of energy consumption, natural light and improved air conditioning for offices and administrative areas, as well as rainwater reuse, sustainable construction design and state-of-the-art water treatment facilities, all of which will enhance the efficiency and sustainability of corporate operations.
