Sop Group Signs 6 Billion Yuan Contract for Acetic Acid Vinyl Acetate and EVA Project

soutuliao 2023-07-31

A significant industrial project, the Sop Acetic Acid Vinyl Acetate (VAM) and Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) project, was officially signed at the Zhenjiang Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Equipment Industry Chain Integration and Development Conference.

The project has a total investment of 6 billion yuan and is a key link for Sop Group to develop high-end new materials downstream from acetic acid to VAM and EVA, utilizing idle land resources in the new area. EVA is an important downstream product of the company's acetic acid products. In recent years, the demand for EVA has steadily increased, driven by the development of the photovoltaic industry, which has also spurred the demand for acetic acid. The company is optimistic about the future development of the photovoltaic industry.

It is reported that the Sop Acetic Acid Vinyl Acetate and EVA project uses the acetic acid process package of DuPont Company in the United States to process acetic acid into VAM and EVA resin with good profit margins, especially 28% photovoltaic-grade EVA resin, which meets the national clean energy policy and the goals of "carbon peak" and "carbon neutrality" and has broad market prospects.
