UPL set up a subsidiary in South Africa to carry out seed and related business
On November 22, 2023, UPL announced that its subsidiary Advanta Seeds (Pty) has been granted a certificate of incorporation in South Africa, effective November 21, 2023. Advanta Seeds (Pty) will become a subsidiary of the Advanta Seed structure of Advanta Enterprises in India, which holds 86.67% of the shares, to carry out seeds and related businesses after a timely injection of equity.
UPL is a global player in crop protection products with a customer base in 123 countries. The company has subsidiaries in Argentina, Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Canada, Denmark, Indonesia, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Mauritius, Mexico, New Zealand, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, South Africa, the United States, the United Kingdom, Vietnam and Zambia.
