Wanhua Chemical’s 400,000 tons/year POE Environmental Impact Assessment Announcement

On December 1, Wanhua Chemical’s official website released a draft environmental impact report for the project. The company will build a new 400,000 tons/year polyolefin elastomer device and supporting public auxiliary projects and auxiliary facilities in Penglai Chemical Industrial Park Wanhua Penglai Industrial Park.

 

It is reported that Wanhua Chemical began to lay out related patents such as metallocene, α-olefin oligomerization, and high-temperature solution polymerization of olefins as early as 2017; it completed the pilot test of POE products in September 2021; In August 2022, the company’s projects of 1.2 million tons/year ethylene and downstream high-end polyolefin were approved, including 2×200,000 tons/year polyolefin elastomer (POE) units; the project's ethylene cracking unit officially started construction on March 9, 2023.

 

Wanhua Chemical's planned POE production line is expected to be put into production in 2024. Currently, two products, WANSUPER® 9057 and WANSUPER® 9147, have been developed for use in the photovoltaic field.
