BASF announces price increases for plastic additives and nylon 6
With immediate effect, or subject to existing contracts, BASF will increase the price of additives for plastics applications worldwide, including heat stabilizers and UV stabilizers, antioxidants, processing aids, lubricants and pigments by up to 20 %.
The company attributed the price adjustment mainly to the large fluctuations in the price and supply of basic raw materials, as well as the rapid increase in freight rates.
BASF will also increase the price of nylon and intermediates in North America, and increase the price of polyamide polymers and intermediates. The prices of nylon 6 and caprolactam are increased by 15 cents/lb, and the price of copolymers is increased by 18 cents/lb.
