Astellas Pharma China, a leading pharmaceutical company, recently announced significant organizational changes and the establishment of a new business unit. The restructuring involves key executive appointments and the formation of a dedicated China Biopharmaceutical Business Unit (BBU) under the leadership of Lin Xiao, among other noteworthy developments.

Executive Appointments in the Oncology Division:
As part of the restructuring, Mr. Chen Kangwei, General Manager of Astellas Pharma China's Oncology Division, will be returning to Singapore due to family reasons. He will also join Astellas Pharma's Global Oncology Management Team, reporting directly to Wang Lei, President of Astellas Pharma International Business and China.

Establishment of the China Biopharmaceutical Business Unit (BBU):
Astellas Pharma China will officially establish the China Biopharmaceutical Business Unit (BBU), which will be headed by Lin Xiao, who will also be responsible for the Respiratory and Biologics Division and oversee operations in Hong Kong and Macau. The BBU will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth in the field of chronic diseases in China. Lin Xiao will report directly to Wang Lei, President of Astellas Pharma China.

Strategic Leadership Profiles:
Lai Minglong, with a medical degree from the University of California and a Master's in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, assumes the position of General Manager and Oncology Business Unit Head for Astellas Pharma China. He brings in extensive experience from his previous roles as a project leader at a leading consulting firm in Boston and as a Vice President at another pharmaceutical company.
