AkzoNobel Supplies Adora Magic City with Marine Protective Coatings

Recently, AkzoNobel announced that it provided ship protective coatings for China’s first domestically produced large-scale cruise ship Adora Magic City which completed its grand maiden voyage. According to the company, Adora Magic City uses its International paint.

According to AkzoNobel, the Adora Magic City cruise ship took more than three years to design and build and can carry up to 5,246 passengers. With its official launch, China's cruise industry is entering a new historical stage. The cruise ship selected AkzoNobel's Intersmooth antifouling coating for its hull protection. This high-performance coating not only has excellent durability, but also has extremely low volatile organic compound content, demonstrating excellent application performance.

AkzoNobel's International paints protects and enhances vessel performance when faced with multiple challenges including impact and abrasion, chemical resistance and biofouling build-up. In addition, these coatings reduce the build-up of biofouling and reduce drag over time, which will help improve fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.
