IFS Coatings Launches IFS Puroplaz PE16 Powder Coating

IFS Coatings has launched IFS Puroplaz PE16, a tough thermoplastic modified polyolefin powder coating with a unique combination of incredible hardness and excellent flexibility with very high adhesion.

Technical excellence is key to the formulation, with Puroplaz PE16 offering a Shore D hardness of 60, extremely high gravelometer performance and excellent impact and abrasion resistance.

"This PE16 formulation offers a rare combination of stiffness and flexibility," said Tim Brinner, vice president of thermoplastics at IFS Coatings. "These properties are often interdependent, requiring the gain of one property to be traded for the other. The new formulation overcomes this issue, making it ideal for coated post-formed products such as fence wire weaving, that also require excellent abrasion resistance. It can be used as an alternative to nylon coatings in some applications. The product does provide excellent performance but also provides the lower gloss required for many of these applications."

Puroplaz PE16 is suitable for a wide range of applications including woven wire fencing, fence posts, baskets, battery boxes, agricultural implements, automotive springs, water pipes and fittings, oil pipe and fittings and foot traffic areas. Puroplaz PE16 is available in spray and dip grade formulations and does not use PVC, phthalates or BPA in the formula.

IFS Puroplaz PE16 is part of the IFS coatings thermoplastic product range, which includes Puroplaz PE15 with high slip and abrasion resistance, PE 20 and PE 20 textures, known for their technical capabilities and aesthetics, Puroplaz PE21 with high wear, scratch and UV resistance, Puroplaz PE40 with high chemical and corrosion resistance.
