Kao Opens British Premium Brand Flagship Store in Malaysia
Kao officially launched Molton Brown, the British high-end brand it founded, to the Malaysian market. Its Molton Brown flagship store in partnership with Valiram, Southeast Asia's leading luxury and lifestyle group, opened on December 22, 2023 at Exchange TRX Mall, an upscale shopping mall located in Kuala Lumpur's International Financial District.
Kao will also establish an e-commerce website in the near future and supply its hotel-specific products to high-end hotels, and this will be accelerated in the future. Kao strives to create a variety of scenarios where customers can have close contact, and organically combines stores and e-commerce on both offline and online to increase its brand influence in the Malaysian market.
The move is part of Kao's wider global sharp-top strategy, starting with SENSAI, Molton Brown and Curél, to expand its beauty brands beyond its current core markets.
Following its expansion into Malaysia, Molton Brown plans to expand into B2C operations in Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong in 2024, followed by Indonesia and Macau. The brand aims to further globalize by strengthening its presence in Asia.
