UK Revises Maximum Residue Limits of Ethofumesate in Garlic, Onions, and Shallots
In a recent announcement, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) of the United Kingdom has proposed revisions to the maximum residue limits (MRLs) of ethofumesate in certain food products. The proposed changes specifically target garlic, onions, and shallots. This article will provide an overview of the revised MRLs and their implications for food safety.
The HSE's announcement, numbered GB MRL2024/002, outlines the proposed revisions to the MRLs of ethofumesate. Currently, the MRL for ethofumesate in garlic, onions, and shallots stands at 0.03 mg/kg.
