The Body Shop Sells Most of Its European and Asian Businesses
According to reports, The Body Shop is preparing to sell most of its business in Europe and part of its business in Asia, which includes physical and digital channels, accounting for about 14% of The Body Shop's global business.
The troubled beauty brand said in a statement that the sale would not impact its operations in the UK market, "This further prioritizes The Body Shop's strategically important markets and global lead franchise partnerships and will look for opportunities to build on these relationships. The Body Shop will also work to strengthen its digital platform, develop new sales channels and differentiated retail experiences to attract customers more effectively."
The spokesman added that the sale of the European and Asian operations would allow it to strengthen its presence in other key markets, "Our ambition is to create a modern and dynamic beauty brand that is relevant to customers and able to compete in the long term. The Body Shop must continue to create great products, rediscover its unique strengths, and achieve financial stability."
Previously, Natura & Co sold The Body Shop in September 2023, and investor Aurelius Group bought it for £207 million in November.
