Unilin Technologies Launches PFAS-Free Waterproof Coating Formulation
Unilin Technologies takes a big step forward in durability with the launch of the first PFAS-free waterproof coating formulation for use on floors and more, ahead of the upcoming ban on the use of PFAS (fluorine) in products in the EU and US starting in 2025 bans on harmful chemicals.
Unilin Technologies has invested considerable research and development work into creating different coating versions, each with its own unique advantages, developing innovative and environmentally friendly solutions.
The result is a comprehensive patent portfolio that broadly covers not only the use of impregnating agents on specific HDF panels (US Patent 11,739,537), but also specific ingredients in protective coatings (US Patent 11,473,315), as well as different application methods (US Patent 11,746,537 ).
A PFAS-free version of Unicoat, which will also be available through Unilin's partners PTS and Schiele Maschinenbau, is a sustainable and responsible option that reflects Unilin Technologies' ongoing commitment to innovative and eco-conscious solutions.
