Qlayers Secures Funding from Rotterdamse Havendraken to Develop Robotic Solutions for Painting Industrial Infrastructure
Delft-based Qlayers, a company specializing in pioneering industrial coating application technologies, announced on January 31, that it has secured an undisclosed investment from Rotterdamse Havendraken.
The company will use the funds to accelerate global expansion and strengthen its position in industrial coatings technology. "With Rotterdamse Havendraken's investment, we are not only redefining the standard for industrial coatings; We are leading a global movement of sustainable innovation, reshaping industries that go beyond the surface, "said Josefien Groot, CEO and co-founder of Qlayers.
Founded by Josefien Groot and Ruben Geutjens, Qlayers uses robotic technology to overcome the limitations of manual painting, making the painting process of large industrial surfaces safer, more sustainable and more efficient. The Dutch company specializes in developing advanced robotic systems for painting large industrial assets, including storage tanks, wind turbines and ships. Qlayers' patented spray shielding system significantly reduces overspray, reducing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and microplastic emissions. The company operates across Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and North America.
The robotic coating technology aims to reduce waste and improve safety in the workplace, in line with Rotterdamse Havendraken's goal of promoting ecological progress in its Marine activities.
Investor Rotterdamse Havendraken is an investment company that supports innovative technologies in the ports, maritime, logistics and energy sectors. The investment firm provides capital to companies driving technological advancement and ecological responsibility in these industries.
"Rotterdamse Havendraken is delighted to support Qlayers' mission to redefine industrial coatings. This collaboration demonstrates the potential that comes from combining innovation and industry experience," said Robin Slakhorst, co-founder of Rotterdamse Havendraken.
