ACTEGA expands its UV-curable coatings production capacity in India
ACTEGA announces contract manufacturing arrangement with ELANTAS Beck India Limited (EBIL). ACTEGA is producing high-quality WESSCO® UV-curable coatings at this local, state-of-the-art facility. It is to further enhance its capabilities and meet the needs of the Indian flexible packaging market.
ACTEGA is a manufacturer of specialty coatings, inks, adhesives, sealants and compounds for the printing and packaging industries.
Local production, sales and technical service bring ACTEGA closer to its customers, resulting in shorter delivery times. With this move, ACTEGA strengthens its market position and improves its already high customer service standards. It will seize new growth opportunities.
"In 2020, ACTEGA acquired the Swiss company Schmid Rhyner, which significantly expanded our UV coating product range. Through discussions with customers, we understood that there is a strong demand in India for this range of coatings to be produced locally," said Thomas Sawitowski, Senior Vice President of ACTEGA Flexible Packaging.
"With this facility, we act on this valuable market feedback and take a major step forward in being able to offer Made-in-India UV coatings," Sawitowski added. The contract manufacturing arrangement between ACTEGA and EBIL enables ACTEGA to leverage EBIL's existing infrastructure.
We are pleased to serve as a contract manufacturer for ACTEGA, ensuring that all aspects of the production process meet their global high quality requirements. As an integral part of technology transfer, we have local production facilities, including quality control laboratories," said Srikumar Ramakrishnan, Managing Director of EBIL.
"This allows us to ensure consistent quality, whether the product is made in Switzerland, as before, or now in India. Additionally, a recent audit by a globally renowned packaging manufacturer headquartered in India confirmed our compliance with the strictest standards," Ramakrishnan added.
"At ACTEGA, we are committed to providing the highest quality products and services to our customers and EBIL's local manufacturing facilities in India are a testament to this commitment. Through our contract manufacturing arrangement with EBIL, we believe ACTEGA is well-positioned to continue to deliver superior solutions and exceed customer expectations in India and beyond. " said Peter Zwankhuizen, senior vice president and head of Asia at ACTEGA.
