Arkema’s French UV resin plant receives ISCC+ certification

ECHEMI 2024-03-21

Arkema has achieved a new milestone on the road to sustainability by receiving ISCC+ certification for its Villers Saint Paul plant in France. A mass balance approach has enabled Arkema to launch a new range of bioattributed UV-LED-EB curable resins with up to a 40% reduction in carbon footprint compared to fossil resins.

The Villers Saint Paul plant becomes the first European ISCC+ certified UV-LED-EB curing resin manufacturing facility. The certification allows for the delivery of a new range of Sartomer  bioproperty solutions, enhancing the existing range of bioisolates containing up to 85% bio-based content.

“Mass balance certification across the entire value chain enables Arkema’s customers to decarbonize and accelerate the industry’s shift to more sustainable alternatives through direct embedded performance solutions,” said Laurent Peyronneau, global president of UV/3D Professional.

This achievement is another step towards completing the global ISCC+ certified factory network, enabling Arkema’s strategy to progressively launch a full range of bioattributed specialty resins and additives, such as high solids, waterborne, UV-LED-EB, and polyester powder resin.
