12 Tebuconazole SC products were expanded to onion on the same day

2024-04-03

Rust is one of the main diseases of onion, which is distributed all over China and can occur in spring, summer and autumn, leading to early leaf death and yield decline, which has a serious impact on yield and quality.

On March 20, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs approved the registration of 430g/l Tebuconazole SC products of 12 pesticide enterprises, including Jiangsu ROTAM, Shanghai Yuellian, Shaanxi BIOGEN, and Jiangxi Zhengbang. The newly registered crops and the control objects are onion rust. It is recommended that in the early stage of the disease, the dosage of 8-10 ml/mu should be evenly sprayed with water, and the medicine should be applied once depending on the disease interval of 7-10 days. The crops in each season should be used up to 2 times, and the safety interval is 14 days. This is the first time that China has approved the registration of a single dose of Tebuconazole in onion, which can effectively alleviate the problem of selecting medicinal pesticides in onion production.

Previously, only the 75% Tebuconazole · Azoxystrobin WDG product of US SIPCAM Company was expanded to onion in China in December 2021 for the prevention and control of rust disease.

In addition, MEFRONT(Huai ‘an)’s 30% Kresoxim-methyl WP products have also been registered in China's onion, for the prevention and control of rust disease.

According to GB 2763-2021, the maximum residue limits of Tebuconazole, Azoxystrobin and Kresoxim-methyl in Chinese onion are 0.5, 7 and 0.2 mg/kg, respectively.
