Versalis acquires Italian composites producer Tecnofilm

ECHEMI 2024-04-17

Italian chemicals company Versalis has completed its acquisition of composites maker Tecnofilm after regulators approved the deal.

Tecnofilm is an Italian family-owned company based in the Marche region that produces functionalized polyolefins and thermoplastic compounds based on plastics and elastomers, primarily for the footwear and technical products industries.

Founded in 1972, Tecnofilm has continuously expanded its product portfolio over the years to offer a wider range of compounds and functional polymers for a variety of industrial applications and technical articles. The company has applied for patents on several of its products.

Adriano Alfani, CEO of Versalis, said:"The acquisition of Tecnofilm further strengthens Versalis' business specialization strategy. To this end, it provides opportunities to expand and specialize our product portfolio by integrating downstream supply chain activities in elastomer compounding, particularly in the areas of industrial applications and footwear. We are already a leader along the entire supply chain with Finproject, to which Tecnofilm will be highly complementary."
