Lygos launches Soltellus multifunctional sustainable polymer for skin and hair applications

Lygos, Inc. recently launched Soltellus, a family of high-performance, versatile, customizable and sustainable polymers for hair and skin care formulations.

Soltellus is a biodegradable alternative to non-biodegradable polymers currently used in personal care formulations. In hair care, it enhances softness, smoothness, shine and wet compatibility, leaving hair looking healthier and moisturized, according to the company.

In skin care, as a co-surfactant, it ensures the formation of a stable, rich, creamy lather and an easily spreadable lather for deeper, more thorough removal of dirt, oil and impurities. According to the company, as an emulsifier, it improves the user experience through smoother application and a luxurious afterfeel, maintaining formula quality while leaving skin hydrated without any residue.
