AkzoNobel to close three production sites
AkzoNobel has announced its intention to close its production sites in Groot-Ammers in the Netherlands, Cork in Ireland and Lusaka in Zambia and move production to other locations in the region.
This intention is the first part of a multi-year industrial efficiency plan, due to be completed by the end of 2026. AkzoNobel plans to close the plant and focus on building a larger, more cost-effective plant. The goal is to streamline, enhance and optimize its industrial network to become more competitive.
The relevant social partners have been informed of the planned closure of the plant and the next steps. The final decision will be taken after regular consultations with employees and local social partners.
