FendX announces progress in development of its spray nanocoating
FendX continues to advance its spray nanocoating technology with the goal of transferring the technology to nanoComposix for evaluation and conduct intermediate scale-up.
FendX Technologies, a nanotechnology company that develops surface protective coatings, has provided an update on progress toward finalizing the formulation of a spray-on nanocoating product it is developing.
Dr. Carolyn Myers, CEO of FendX said:"We are pleased to announce that we are moving towards finalizing the spray nanocoating formulation with the goal of optimizing the scale-up production process. Our formulation work in collaboration with McMaster University involves streamlining the steps required to produce nanoparticle suspensions, we are now working on an all-in-one suspension that is expected to be easier to scale up and apply and provide optimal durability. Once the formulation is complete, it will be forwarded to our development partner nanoComposix LLC, who will evaluate the formulation and work on scaling up production."
On October 26, 2023, FendX announced a master services agreement with nanoComposix, which provides that nanoComposix will evaluate, replicate and scale up spray nanocoating formulations for larger batch testing. FendX’s spray nanocoating intellectual property has been licensed from McMaster University under a license agreement dated May 16, 2023. Both REPELWRAP™ film and spray nanocoatings have been proven to significantly reduce the adhesion of bacteria and viruses, thereby reducing their spread on contaminated surfaces.
