ECHEMI 2024-05-27

L'Oréal showcases new beauty technology innovations at Viva Technology in Paris. The product portfolio aims to achieve 'Beauty for Each, Powered by Beauty Tech'.

The product portfolio includes skin and hair diagnostics, GenAI-powered personal beauty assistants, GenAI Beauty Content Lab (CREAITECH) for enhanced creativity, revolutionary hair dryers based on infrared light technology, micro-peeling devices for advanced skin care performance , and the most realistic human-like skin technology platform for scientific research and product testing.

Barbara Lavernos, Deputy CEO of Research, Innovation and Technology at L’Oréal Group, commented:"For years, we have been pioneers in beauty technology and we believe technology can push the limits of beauty and improve the lives of people around the world. With advanced diagnostics, enhanced beauty services, GenAI assistants, with enhanced creativity in the GenAI era and groundbreaking electronic devices, we are shaping the future of beauty to be more personal, inclusive and responsible."

CREAITECH, L’Oréal’s in-house GenAI Beauty Content Lab, is a state-of-the-art lab with tools designed to transform the way content is produced for the Group. CREAITECH enables L’Oréal to scale brand-aligned, localized content creation across its 37 beauty brands, while upskilling L’Oréal marketers with the latest creative technologies.

Asmita Dubey, Chief Digital and Marketing Officer of L’Oréal Group said:"Our CREAITECH GenAI Beauty Content Lab is a testament to what human hands and GenAI tools can achieve in terms of creativity. With our new brand customization model, we can train GenAI to recognize our brand’s unique visual code and launch innovative beauty campaigns faster. Importantly, we can do this without violating the principles of responsible AI, which include do not use artificial intelligence-generated realistic images of faces, bodies, hair and skin to support or enhance product benefits in our external communications."

L'Oréal's skin technology more closely mimics the diversity of real human skin, including conditions such as eczema and acne, as well as its ability to tan and heal wounds. L'Oréal is currently working with start-ups and institutions around the world to further develop technology that will enable skin to sense.

"At the same time, we launched the New Beauty Creator Program through Meta to empower the next generation of 3D, AR and AI creators to explore new creative frontiers in the beauty field. Our brands L'Oréal Paris, Lancôme and La Roche-Posay pioneer and embrace these new creative frontiers by working with teams of 30 creators who leverage cutting-edge tools and technology. Our goal is to unleash technological creativity in a growing creator economy. " Dubey added.
