From China to Australia, BASF's Cimegra® (Broflanilide) continues to expand

Recently, Basf has launched an innovative insecticide, Cimegra®, on the Australian market. With its unique mechanism of action and superior pest control capabilities, this product provides farmers with an efficient, flexible and long-lasting crop protection solution.

Cimegra® contains BASF's newest active ingredient, Broflanilide. Following successful registrations in China in 2021 and Indonesia in 2023, BASF has once again expanded its product line, further consolidating its leadership position in the insecticide market.

This new insecticide, with its novel mode of action, is one of the first products on the market to be launched by IRAC Mechanism of Action Group 30. Cimegra® represents a new class of insecticides containing m-diamide and 1,2-Oxazolidine with no known cross-resistance to existing products on the market and is therefore considered an ideal tool for insecticide resistance management.

 The cross-layer movement properties of Cimegra® allow it to effectively control pests such as diamonds, and this versatile insecticide is able to work against insects that feed under leaves, providing growers with comprehensive coverage. In addition, Cimegra® is able to effectively fight the most stubborn resistant insects by attacking the insect's nervous system, and has the ability to spread quickly, which is excellent for controlling pests in different crops at different stages of growth. In addition, when mixed in a tank, it can also be compatible with a variety of products.

Cimegra® has been registered in Australia for use in Brassica vegetables to control key pests such as diamonds. As part of an integrated pest management program, Cimegra® helps slow the development of pest resistance.
