Related Situation Of Revision Of Food Standard Code In Korea

ECHEMI 2024-07-16

The Ministry of Food and Drug of Korea issued a notice on July 10, 2024, revising the food standard specifications, mainly involving the following aspects:

1. New food standards for nutritional supplements for patients with lung disease. It is required that the calories from protein source account for 18-25% of the total calories, carbohydrates account for less than 40% of the total calories, the calories from fat account for less than 40% of the total calories, and the content of medium-chain triglycerides should be 20-25% of the total fat content.

2. Revised standards for the use of some food raw materials. For example, the daily intake of garcinia cambogia extract is adjusted from 6g to 2.5g.

3. The maximum residue limits (MRLS) of four pesticides in rice, potatoes and other foods were established, which were hexat (0.05mg/kg), fluosilthrin (0.1mg/kg), difenphos (0.2mg/kg) and fluthiachloride (0.05mg/kg).

The revision of these standards reflects the continuous attention of the Korean food regulatory authorities to food safety and nutrition and health, and provides a strong guarantee for the rights and interests of consumers. It is believed that the implementation of these new regulations will further promote the high-quality development of the Korean food industry.

If people have any questions or needs about these changes in food standards, they can promptly pay attention to the follow-up interpretation and explanation of the Ministry of Food and Drug of Korea. At the same time, we also welcome you to continue to pay attention to the food partner network, we will continue to provide you with relevant food regulations and industry information.
