Digestive System Drug Market Analysis: Local Enterprises Dominate, a Few Large Varieties Dominate
In China's huge pharmacEUtical market, the treatment of digestive diseases has been a hot area. According to the "Top 10 Enterprises of digestive system drug sales in 2023" report recently released by PharmacEUtical Intelligence network, the market pattern and development dynamics of this segment can be seen.
According to the report, the top 10 companies in the sales of digestive system drugs in 2023 are mainly local enterprises. Among them, Zhengda Tianqing PharmacEUtical, with its star products such as magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate injection, topped the list with sales of 4.37 billion yuan. It is worth mentioning that this liver disease treatment drug achieved a staggering sales of 2.7 billion yuan in 2023 alone.
At the variety level, there are 1,857 varieties of digestive system drugs, but the proportion of low-sales varieties is as high as 87%. There are only 28 large varieties of more than 1 billion yuan, of which only a quarter have entered the national centralized drug procurement catalog. Head large varieties include omeprazole enteric-soluble capsules, Pantoprazole sodium for injection, ursodeoxycholic acid capsules, etc., with sales of 2.6 billion, 2.3 billion and 2.2 billion yuan respectively in 2023.
China's digestive system drug market is large, reaching 131.9 billion yuan, but there are still some pain points to be solved. First of all, the market concentration is high, and the dominant situation of head varieties is obvious. Secondly, there are fewer large varieties entering the country, and a large number of products have not been included. In addition, the growth rate of the hospital is worse than that of the retail end, and the growth momentum of the industry needs to be further stimulated.
How will the market for drugs for digestive diseases evolve in the future? How do leading companies and products maintain their advantage? Where will the overall growth momentum of the industry come from? These problems are undoubtedly worthy of continuous attention and discussion of colleagues in the industry.
