Elkem announces silicone price increase
Elkem announces price increases for its silicone products worldwide. The increases vary by product line, with a minimum increase of 10% effective August 15, subject to contractual allowances.
The price increase is necessary to enable Elkem to continue to invest in the funds needed to support capacity expansion, equipment maintenance and product development to meet the growing needs of its customers in a safe and sustainable manner.
While Elkem Silicones has made significant progress in reducing operating costs and improving efficiency over the past 18 months, these savings have not been sufficient to offset the negative impact of rising costs associated with raw materials, packaging, energy, transport and logistics services, labor and operational maintenance, making the cost increase necessary.
