EU Evaluates the Safety and Efficacy of Lactococcus lactis DSM 34262 as a Silage Additive for All Animal Species
On July 25, 2024, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) officially published its authoritative study, which was carefully prepared by the EU Animal Feed Additives and Products (FEEDAP) Research Group. Focus on the safety and efficacy evaluation of Lactococcus lactis DSM 34262, an innovative feed additive, in silage. After a thorough and rigorous scientific assessment, the research team came to an exciting conclusion. They note that under the proposed stringent conditions of use, Lacticoccus lactis DSM 34262 as an additive to silage has demonstrated an extremely high safety profile for all animal species, whether livestock, poultry or other economic animals. This conclusion is based on the comprehensive investigation of the biological characteristics, genetic stability and potential environmental impacts of this strain.
