Sherwin-Williams Showcases Next-Generation Trailer Coatings at NATDA
Trailer dealers and manufacturers come together to showcase their latest innovations at the 2024 NATDA Trailer Show in Nashville. For the first time, Sherwin-Williams General Industrial Coatings will be one of the exhibitors, offering a robust portfolio of advanced coating solutions for the trailer market.
For decades, Sherwin-Williams has supported top trailer OEMs and dealers, helping them differentiate with leading color, aesthetics, and field durability. For its NATDA debut, the company is highlighting two product lines, both designed to improve process efficiency, protect against corrosion claims, and provide showroom aesthetics that shine in the most demanding everyday use.
Duraspar™ Industrial Performance (IP) is a liquid coating with incredible first-time hiding and sag resistance that delivers industrial durability and automotive-quality aesthetics with a streamlined approach.
Powdura® OneCure is an innovative, patented powder coating technology that uses a single-cure primer and topcoat system specifically formulated to protect edges and prevent corrosion while saving time and energy.
“It’s hard to explain how the choice of coating can increase production capacity. Yet, these products do just that,” said Matt Flory, global business director, Transportation, Sherwin-Williams General Industrial. “We’ve helped transportation customers increase production capacity by 50 percent while reducing their total painting costs by switching to Duraspar IP.”
Duraspar IP’s excellent hiding and sag resistance combined with a smooth, high-gloss finish are trusted by trailer OEMs and dealers around the world to increase first-pass yields and reduce overall painting time. Its proven ability to reduce rework makes it an excellent choice for those looking to improve product quality while reducing total painting costs.
Duraspar IP is gaining momentum in the trailer industry not only because of its ability to help OEMs differentiate themselves, but also because it’s incredibly easy to apply. Even novice painters can achieve smooth, high-quality results with minimal training and rework. With many in the industry facing labor shortages and high turnover, finding a solution that meets aesthetic and performance requirements without requiring high training costs could be a game changer.
Powdura OneCure is a proprietary technology designed for edge coverage and corrosion resistance. It eliminates the need to gel or cure the primer prior to applying the topcoat, increasing efficiency, achieving industrial performance and durability while speeding up cycle times and reducing total coating costs. This patented formula is extremely versatile and can be used with different resin systems in both the primer and topcoat to meet individual needs. Duraspar IP and Powdura OneCure are available in a wide range of solid and metallic colors.
