In the field of pharmaceutical industry, CPHI Korea is the core platform for the Asia-Pacific region. The event, co-hosted by CPHI Korea, HI Korea and PMEC, was held at COEX in Seoul, South Korea from August 27 to 29, 2024. Compared to last year, this year's event has expanded by 15 percent and attracted an international audience from more than 70 countries, with more than 9,000 visitors.

With more than 370 exhibitors at the show, the growth trend of the health ingredients industry in the past few years has been particularly significant, matching the excellent performance of Korea's booming biologics manufacturing industry. The fact that KSM-66 (Ashwagandha) became the title sponsor of Hi Korea underscores this shift. Notably, more than 80 percent of visitors have purchasing power responsibilities for online matching and hosting buyer programs, which helps accelerate international and regional collaborations.

Leung added, "The event is a real melting pot of ideas, supply-side technology innovators and major pharmaceutical companies, and it is creating an ecosystem that is helping to drive the growth of Korean pharmaceuticals, one of the fastest growing markets we see globally." Since CPHI Korea first opened a decade ago, the biologics supply chain has grown massively here, and we now expect this to continue alongside the international solid dosage, particularly nutritional food, health and wellness industries, which are growing rapidly across Asia, so Korea is likely to become a major business hub."

In addition to the participation of international enterprises, the event also featured a large number of well-known Chinese institutions, including the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Pharmaceutical and Health Products (CCCMHPIE) and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). Renowned domestic research institutes such as the National Institute of Biological Resources, the Honam Institute of Biological Resources, and the National Institute of Ecology also participated in the event. The Korea Biomedical Industry Association co-hosted the event's "Biozone" to support Korea's rapidly growing biomedical industry.
