Stephenson launches Durosoft range of natural ingredients

Stephenson, an innovation leader and manufacturer of a wide range of soap bases and ingredients for the beauty and personal care markets, has launched Durosoft, a range of natural polyglycerol esters for formulating sustainable skincare, cosmetics and haircare products.

Durosoft was developed to meet the demand for natural products and green formulations across a range of personal care and cosmetic applications, including creams, solid emulsions, cleansing oils and micellar waters.

“We are continually expanding our portfolio of personal care ingredients in order to achieve our goal of being one step ahead of the market,” explains Rob Carr, managing director of the Yorkshire-based company.

“With Durosoft, we can meet the unique needs of new product developers and formulation labs for sustainable emulsifiers and solubilizers – providing specific value to the claims of natural and sustainable raw materials.”

A gentle and effective solution, Durosoft is ideal for use as an oil-in-water or water-in-oil emulsifier to form stable emulsions, and can also be used as a solubilizer, emollient or foam booster.

“Durosoft offers multiple application capabilities – emulsification for enhanced stability and spreadability, and solubilization for stable incorporation of fragrances and oils while providing excellent formulation stability,” Rob points out.

Durosoft is compatible with common synthetic ingredients, making it an excellent starting point for natural products. Its non-ionic properties make it perfect for use with a wide range of cosmetic oils, active ingredients, surfactants and co-emulsifiers. It is also ideal for COSMOS, RSPO-SG certified, palm oil-free and China compliant products.
