Bloomage Biotechnology's new pilot plant construction is complete! Commercial production and large-scale testing of bioactive raw materials have been achieved
Bloomage Biotechnology, which focuses on the innovation of hyaluronic acid and other bioactive substances, announced that its new pilot plant has been completed. With the pharmaceutical-grade pilot plant fully operational, this state-of-the-art facility is now fully capable of accelerating the transition from research to large-scale production for Bloomage Biotechnology and external industry partners, covering the entire biomanufacturing process including fermentation, purification and refining.
Bloomage Biotechnology's pilot plant platform is critical to improving product quality and accelerating time to market. Speaking of its importance, Zhao Yan, Chairman and CEO of Bloomage Biotechnology, said: "Investing in the construction of a pilot plant platform is an important strategic move for Bloomage Biotechnology. It is a core element to empower the industry and narrow the gap between industry, academia and research. It will also further enhance Bloomage Biotechnology's key role as an intermediate link in supply chain management."
The pilot plant reduces product development risks and improves reliability by simulating actual production and quality testing. This is a key step in evaluating product feasibility and resolving defects before the product enters the market. Bloomage Biotechnology's pilot plant is located in Tianjin, covering an area of 30,000 square meters. It is equipped with 64 pilot production lines. It uses modular and drawer-type concepts to optimize the pilot production process and supports pilot and small-scale commercial production of various bioactive raw materials such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food grade.
The platform runs through the entire industrial chain from strain cultivation to finished products. The modular and flexible design enables efficient conversion between different processes and easily supports the production of multiple forms and multiple products, greatly improving equipment utilization and production efficiency. At the same time, it enhances adaptability and meets diversified and personalized R&D needs.
Bloomage Biotechnology's pilot plant is fully prepared for high-quality testing and production. The purification stage adopts a flexible modular design to meet the diverse product testing needs. The refining stage uses strict anti-pollution measures to ensure high quality and safety of products. In addition, the platform's intelligent command center monitors the pilot process and provides real-time insights and optimization. The entire platform follows the principles of Industry 4.0 and uses automation as much as possible to simplify processes and improve efficiency.
To help eliminate innovation bottlenecks, Bloomage Bio's pilot platform adopts an open platform approach to provide comprehensive testing to assist external organizations, including academia, enterprises and research institutions, to accelerate the commercialization of ideas while ensuring compliance with industry standards. From equipment, processes to technology, Bloomage's pilot platform focuses on precision and standardization at every stage. In addition, Bloomage has more than 150 experts to help customers prepare for market entry. Through close cooperation with internal R&D teams and strategic partners, the platform has completed scale-up testing of more than a dozen products.
