Bloomage Biotechnology took the lead in promoting the healthy and sustainable development of the cosmetics industry
From November 24th to November 27th, the 2023 China Fragrances, Flavors and Cosmetics Industry Annual Conference and High-Quality Development Conference was held in Jinan. As a representative of Chinese brands, Bloomage Biotechnology was invited to participate in the conference together with key well-known enterprises such as L'Oreal, Proya, Shanghai Jahwa, and Shanghai Fenghua.
It is reported that the conference, with the theme of "Innovation, Green and Openness", was hosted by the China Flavors, Fragrances and Cosmetics Industry Association.
More than 600 people from experts and entrepreneurs in the field of flavors, fragrances and cosmetics, as well as representatives from international associations such as the European Cosmetics Association and the Korean Cosmetics Association gathered around the industry, conducting discussions and cooperation in cutting-edge and hot areas such as policies and regulations, technological innovation, sustainable development, and industrial chain symbiosis development.
Describe a beautiful new era with "innovation, green and openness"
At present, China's cosmetics market is showing a clear recovery trend. Data shows that the market size of China's cosmetics industry was 485.81 billion yuan in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 6.7%. It is estimated that the market size of China's cosmetics industry will exceed 500 billion yuan in 2023. China's per capita consumption of cosmetics in 2022 was US$55.9, while that in the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, and South Korea was US$235-335. It can be seen that there is huge space in China's cosmetics market.
Zhao Yan, Chairman of Bloomage Biotechnology, said in her opening speech that this conference is focused on the three key words of "innovation, green, and openness" and has very well pointed out to their the core goals and direction of the high-quality development of China's cosmetics industry.
Zhao Yan believes that "innovation" is the source of all development. To achieve high-quality development of China's cosmetics, must rely on "innovation", especially innovation in underlying science and technology, basic research and applied basic research.
In the first half of 2023, leading Chinese companies such as Bloomage Biotechnology, Betteni, Proya, and Shanghai Jahwa invested 187 million yuan, 109 million yuan, 91.52 million yuan, and 77.53 million yuan in R&D respectively. R&D has become an important pillar of corporate innovation.
"Personalized" technology helps China’s products become more high-end
The innovation of biological raw materials in Bloomage Biotechnology is mainly divided into two aspects. The first is the development of new substances through synthetic biotechnology. Compared with extracting relevant raw materials from animals or plants, using synthetic biotechnology to produce products can significantly improve the yield and purity, greatly reduce costs, achieve universal benefits, and is green and environmentally friendly.
In addition to the long-term research and development of hyaluronic acid, Bloomage Biotechnology has also made numerous achievements in six major categories of substances, including collagen, ergothioneine, and human milk oligosaccharides, etc. It has built a library of more than 100 active substances and a new generation of micromolecule transparent raw materials products, such as Hybloom™ and Bioyouth™-EGT Pure ultra-pure ergothioneine, which are already on the market. And the latter has been used in Mibel's anti-aging products. In addition, substances such as salidroside, glycerol glucoside, human milk oligosaccharides and carnosine are also being further industrialized.
In this regard, the Technology and Industrial Innovation Department of Bloomage Biotechnology's internal functional skin care products business line innovates through three routes: "chemical grafting", "supramolecular assembly" and "mixing and synergy" of existing raw materials.
For example, supramolecular assembly is to "entangle" two molecules with each other. The supramolecular they form can carry a variety of active ingredients to form a 1+N combination. The advantage of this technology is that it can use computer simulation to design and screen possible supramolecular combinations in the early stage, effectively reducing the cost and cycle of screening.
In Bio-MESO's newly launched seaweed rechargeable water and rechargeable cream, Bloomage Biotechnology has used GABA (γ-aminobutyric acid) supermolecules, which carry a variety of active ingredients at the same time to promote absorption, long-term effect and reduce irritation.
In addition, Bloomage Biotechnology has built a flexible production line for "customized" skin care products. After passing the skin test, users can start the production of skin care products of their own formula on the production line.
The entire production process only takes 5 minutes to complete a 3-month supply of skin care products, and all formulas are ready for use. This equipment can complete the conversion between different formulas in just 3 minutes, and can continuously produce a variety of different skin care products.
China Flavors, Fragrances and Cosmetics Industry Association held a brand building press conference at the annual meeting. Bloomage Biotechnology's four core brands, BIOHYALUX, QuadHA, MedRepair, and Bio-MESO, were awarded the "2022 Chinese Cosmetics Industry Brand". Bio-MESO Revitalizing Brown Rice Revitalizing Essence Water and BM Revitalizing Brown Rice Revitalizing Softening Cream were listed as "Innovative Cosmetic Products", while BM Revitalizing Brown Rice Revitalizing Essence Milk and BM Revitalizing Brown Rice Balancing Oil Control Lotion were rated as "Cosmetics Upgraded Products".
