Asahi Kasei's Performance Soars: Net Profit Increases by 95.3%, Expected to Double!
Recently, Japan's Asahi Kasei Corporation announced that in the first half of the fiscal year 2024 to 2025 (i.e. from April to September 2024), the company achieved net sales revenue of 1.49 trillion yen, an increase of 10.7% over the same period last year; Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) reached 19.75 billion yen, up 36.5% year on year; Operating profit was 108.9 billion yen, up 94.9% from the same period last year; Net profit was 60.2 billion yen, up 95.3 percent from a year earlier.
Asahi Kasei pointed out that thanks to the strong growth of demand in the semiconductor and electronic products market, the company's materials business achieved significant profit growth in the first half of this fiscal year, operating profit reached 50.2 billion yen, compared with only 17.7 billion yen in the same period last year, and sales increased 12.4% year-on-year to 685.7 billion yen.
In addition, Asahi Kasei has raised its net profit forecast for the current fiscal year to 110 billion yen, more than double the previous fiscal year's 43.8 billion yen.
