PPG Major Restructuring: Three Executives Promoted, New Structure to Launch in 2025

PPG Corporation (NYSE: PPG) announced that in order to optimize the leadership structure of the Industrial Coatings business unit, it has made the following personnel changes, which will be officially implemented on January 1, 2025:


Ms. Juliane Hefel, formerly Vice President, Specialty Coatings and Materials (SCM), has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Industrial Coatings, responsible for strategic planning and operational management of the global SCM business. Ms. Hefel will report directly to Tim Knavish, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PPG, and will be a core member of PPG's Operating Committee. Ms. Hefel joined PPG in September 2022 after holding a number of senior management positions at Henkel, the chemical and consumer goods multinational, where she gained extensive expertise. She will succeed Ms. Irene Tasi, currently PPG's Senior Vice President of Industrial Coatings, who will be promoted to PPG's Senior Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer, continue to report to Mr. Knavish, and continue to serve as a member of the Company's Operating Committee.


Mr. Nie Xiaobing, formerly President of PPG Asia Pacific and Vice President of Industrial Coatings, Greater China and Global Consumer Electronics, will expand his leadership role in Industrial coatings to take overall responsibility for the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Nie Xiaobing will continue to be based in Shanghai and report to Ms. Juliane Hefel. Prior to joining PPG in 2021, Mr. Nie held a number of commercial and marketing positions at DuPont, including Asia Pacific Head of the company's Shelter division.


Ms. Denise Lu, formerly PPG's General Manager of Industrial Coatings for Asia Pacific, will assume the role of Vice President of PPG Packaging Coatings effective January 1, 2025 and will report to Ms. Alisha Bellezza, Senior Vice President of Automotive Coatings. A successor to Ms. Denise Lu in her current position will be announced in a subsequent official announcement.
