US Delays Decision on China's Epoxy Resin Anti-dumping Case Until 2025

ECHEMI 2024-12-10

According to the US International Trade Administration, the US Department of Commerce recently announced that the final determination date for certain epoxy resin products imported from China below fair value sales (LTFV, i.e. anti-dumping investigation) will be extended to March 28, 2025. At the same time, the implementation period of the interim measures will be extended from the previous four months to no more than six months.

The survey was conducted from April 23, 2024 and covers the period from October 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024. The U.S. Department of Commerce issued a preliminary determination on November 13, 2024, that there had been less than fair value sales of epoxy resins imported from China.

As a major exporter and mandatory respondent in this case, Huntsman Advanced Materials (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. filed an extension request with the U.S. Department of Commerce on November 18, 2024, requesting that the deadline for the final ruling be postponed to 135 days after the announcement of the preliminary ruling (i.e., March 28, 2025), and requesting that the period of interim measures be extended to a maximum of six months. The Commerce Department ultimately approved the extension request.
