Former President of Renowned Pharmaceutical Company Sentenced to 3 Years and 6 Months
Recently, Hanyu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. announced that its former president, Yuan Jiancheng, has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison for embezzlement. Yuan's criminal activities occurred six years ago, and he left the company in August 2019. This ruling is final, and the case has been officially closed.

- On January 25, 2022, Hanyu Pharmaceutical announced that former director and senior executive Yuan Jiancheng was subject to criminal coercive measures by public security authorities for suspected job-related crimes.
- On February 15, 2022, the Nanshan District People's Procuratorate of Shenzhen filed charges against Yuan for embezzling a significant amount of company funds.
- On January 18, 2023, Hanyu Pharmaceutical announced that Yuan had been sentenced to four years in prison by a first-instance court for job-related crimes.
- On September 13, 2023, the company reported further developments, stating that the Intermediate People's Court of Shenzhen revoked the first-instance ruling and sent the case back for retrial.
- On July 4, 2024, Hanyu Pharmaceutical announced that Yuan was sentenced to three years and six months in prison.
- In November 2024, the Intermediate People's Court of Shenzhen issued a final ruling, rejecting the appeal and maintaining the original sentence of three years and six months for embezzlement.
About Hanyu Pharmaceutical and Yuan Jiancheng:
Hanyu Pharmaceutical is a leading pharmaceutical company listed in Shenzhen, focusing on the peptide drug industry. Since its IPO in 2011, it has gained significant influence in the global peptide pharmaceutical field. The actual controlling party is the Zeng family’s "three brothers."
Yuan Jiancheng was a core member of Hanyu's management team and served as president, responsible for daily operations. He worked at the company for 17 years, from April 2002 to July 2019, during which he oversaw critical stages of the company's IPO and business development. In 2019, Yuan abruptly resigned, and that same year, Hanyu reported a net loss of 885 million yuan, with revenue dropping to 614 million yuan.
On July 21, 2021, Yuan voluntarily reported to public security and was detained the same day. He was arrested on August 24 and held at the Nanshan District detention center in Shenzhen. Yuan has returned 36.34 million yuan to the company. Numerous rumors about disputes between companies and executives circulate in society, many of which are thought-provoking stories.
