NHK Spring to Cease Chemical Product Line by 2025, Focus on Transformation
Recently, NHK Spring, a leader in industrial machinery and equipment manufacturing, announced plans to completely stop production and sales of its chemical product line, particularly certain polyurethane foam products, by the end of March 2025. As part of the company’s strategic transformation, NHK Spring has reached an agreement with Toyo Quality One to transfer its chemical product business, effective April 1, 2025.
The decision to exit the chemical product business involves terminating the production and sales of several polyurethane foam products, including brands such as Super Seal, Super Sheet, Nippalay, Insuron, and FOREA. NHK Spring expressed gratitude for customer support over the years and emphasized that this move aligns with its broader strategic goals.
The business transfer agreement was officially signed on December 9, 2024, marking the beginning of the company's transformation. Starting April 1, 2025, Toyo Quality One, a well-regarded company in the foam manufacturing field, will take over the production and sales of the aforementioned products.
Toyo Quality One, established in 1935 and headquartered in Kawagoe, Saitama, Japan, specializes in producing various foam products, including polyurethane foam, asphalt foam, plastic foam, and other foam processing products. The company is led by President Toshiaki Seki and has a capital of 800 million yen (approximately 5.32 million USD), with an excellent track record in the foam industry.
NHK Spring noted that the transfer of the chemical product business is expected to have a minor impact on its consolidated financial performance, confirming that its financial forecasts for the current year will not undergo significant adjustments.
In an official press release, NHK Spring sincerely thanked customers and stakeholders for their continued support of its chemical product business, stating, "We deeply appreciate your support over the years. We believe that Toyo Quality One will continue to provide high-quality products and services in the polyurethane foam field."
