SK Nexilis receives $133 million in subsidies from Poland

ECHEMI 2024-12-27

SK Nexilis, the world's largest copper foil manufacturer, said on December 23 that it received a $133 million subsidy from the Polish government under the EU's Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework (TCTF) program. SK Nexilis is the first Korean battery material company to receive TCTF subsidies and the largest subsidy provided by the Polish government.

The company will work with the Polish government to build a copper foil manufacturing plant in Stalowa Wola, Poland.

The EU introduced the TCTF in March last year to relax subsidy rules for companies that promote net zero carbon dioxide emissions such as electric vehicles and batteries.
